In the 2026 edition, GTBank emerged as Nigeria’s top-performing bank, ranking first overall while also securing the No. 1 position in Efficiency and Soundness.

The bank also placed second in several other key performance categories, including Return on Risk, Liquidity, Growth, Leverage, and Profitability, highlighting its strong performance across major banking metrics.

Commenting on the recognition, the Managing Director of GTBank, Miriam Olusanya, described the award as a testament to the bank’s unwavering commitment to excellence and customer value.

“Being named the Best Overall Performing Bank in Nigeria by The Banker is a recognition that means a great deal to us, not just because of the prestige of the publication, but because of what it represents—the hard work of our people, the loyalty of our customers, and the strength we continue to draw from being part of the GTCO Group.

“Ranking first in Overall Performance, Efficiency, and Soundness reflects our disciplined approach to banking, the synergies we harness across the GTCO Group, and our relentless focus on delivering real value. We do not take this recognition for granted. It deepens our resolve to keep raising the bar, serve our customers better every day, and remain a bank that consistently delivers value to all stakeholders,” she said.

The latest recognition further strengthens GTBank’s reputation as one of Africa’s leading banking institutions, reflecting the resilience of its business model, disciplined execution strategy, and continued investment in innovation and customer-focused banking solutions.

The award also adds to GTBank’s growing list of international honours and underscores its commitment to operational excellence, sustainable growth, and long-term value creation for customers, shareholders, and the communities it serves.
