Senate has named 12-Member Committee on Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Nigerian Senate has appointed a 12-member committee to work jointly with the House of Representatives on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the composition of the committee on Tuesday during an emergency plenary session convened to deliberate on the proposed amendments to the Electoral Act.

Among the senators named to the committee are Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and Senator Tahir Mungono.

The emergency session of the Senate is focused on addressing contentious provisions in the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, which is expected to have significant implications for Nigeria’s electoral process.
