ACF Lagos visited Afenifere Chieftain and strengthened peace and youth development drive in Lagos.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Lagos State chapter of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has paid a courtesy visit to a prominent Afenifere chieftain and youth advocate, Otunba Omololu, reaffirming its commitment to peace, unity, and youth development in Lagos State.
The visit, which took place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in Lagos, followed an earlier interaction between ACF leaders and Otunba Omololu at the 25th anniversary of the Arewa Consultative Forum in Kaduna. It was aimed at deepening collaboration between Arewa and Yoruba socio-cultural leadership in Lagos.

Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening inter-regional cooperation, integrating ACF Lagos Chapter activities within the state, and fostering productive engagement with the Lagos State Government, as well as Yoruba traditional and political leaders. The forum also highlighted the need to create a supportive environment for Arewa youths and women living and doing business in Lagos and across the South-West.
The ACF delegation was led by Comrade Sani Salisu Danmuttaqa, Sarkin Samarin Yamma in the 17 Southern States and ACF South-West Deputy Chairman. Other members included the Chairman of ACF Lagos Chapter, Comrade Yahaya Abubakar; the Chapter’s Secretary, Mukhtar Shuaibu Umar; and Hajiya Zulaihat Ibrahim, Chairperson of the Women Development and Poverty Alleviation Committee and President of the Arewa Women Humanity Forum.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Yahaya Abubakar stressed the importance of sustained dialogue and cooperation in a diverse and cosmopolitan state like Lagos. Comrade Danmuttaqa also reiterated ACF’s commitment to national integration, noting that engagement with Afenifere leadership was a deliberate step toward promoting peaceful coexistence, mutual understanding, and inclusive development.
In his response, Otunba Omololu commended the ACF Lagos Chapter for its proactive approach to inter-communal relations and youth engagement, describing the visit as timely and strategic. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among Nigeria’s diverse groups for sustainable peace and development.
The meeting ended on a cordial note, with both parties agreeing to sustain dialogue and collaboration in pursuit of peace, unity, and inclusive growth in Lagos State.
