Atiku has vowed that no aspirant will step down in ADC Presidential Race.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared that no presidential aspirant will withdraw from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential race, insisting that all contenders are free to contest.

Atiku made the assertion in a statement issued on Tuesday through his media adviser, Paul Ibe, amid speculations that he is under pressure to step aside for a Southern candidate ahead of the next presidential election.

He dismissed the reports, stressing that the ADC remains committed to an open and competitive process in which all aspirants can present themselves without intimidation.

The former vice president also called on Nigerians to resist what he described as attempts by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to weaken and intimidate opposition parties.

According to Atiku, suggestions that he should withdraw in favour of another candidate are misplaced, arguing instead that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should step aside due to what he termed the administration’s poor performance.

“For nearly three years, Nigerians have endured one of the harshest periods in recent history—an era marked by punishing economic policies and a shrinking democratic space under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

Atiku’s statement comes as political alignments intensify ahead of the presidential contest, with opposition parties positioning themselves to challenge the incumbent government.
