APC Candidate Ukachukwu has sparked outrage with controversial comment on baby factories in Anambra.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Prince Evangelist Nicholas Ukachukwu, has come under fire following his controversial response to questions about the growing menace of baby factories and illegal adoption rings in Anambra State.

When asked for his assessment of the disturbing trend, Ukachukwu made a statement that has since raised eyebrows across the state. He said:

“Nobody has more number of factories in Anambra State than myself and my family. And on that note, I am telling you that I can remember in recent times once telling you that many industries rising up in Anambra dying. Insecurity has killed all of the factories. As a matter of fact, my factory is under lock because they kidnapped my six experts. I used to have about 77 of them working for me. The place is under lock and key.”

The remark, which many described as insensitive and self-centered, has sparked widespread criticism, with observers accusing Ukachukwu of failing to address the core humanitarian issue while focusing instead on his personal business losses.

Critics argue that rather than condemning the criminal networks behind baby factories and illegal adoptions, the APC candidate appeared more concerned with his commercial interests, leaving many questioning his grasp of the state’s worsening social and security crises.

Public commentators have also highlighted the contradictions in his statement — boasting about owning the highest number of factories in a state plagued by insecurity, yet admitting that his own facilities remain shut due to kidnappings.

With the election fast approaching, Ukachukwu’s comments risk further alienating voters already skeptical of political leaders’ commitment to tackling poverty, unemployment, and organized crime in Anambra State.

Analysts say the incident exposes a tone-deaf and disconnected campaign, suggesting that Ukachukwu’s priorities may lie more in protecting his private ventures than in addressing the plight of vulnerable citizens affected by the baby factory crisis.
