3MTT State Meetup in Akwa Ibom State fostered growth and innovation in Nigeria’s Tech Industry.
As part of its flagship program aimed at training and placing 3 million Nigerian tech talents over the next few years, 3MTT (3 Million Technical Talent) hosted its first community event at 3MTT Akwa Ibom State.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the event, which took place on the 4th of May, 2024, brought together tech enthusiasts, professionals, and stakeholders from across the region to foster learning, collaboration, and inspiration within the local tech community.
The President Tinubu Government’s 3MTT program is a groundbreaking initiative designed to build Nigeria’s technical workforce, driving the nation’s digital economy and positioning it as a net exporter of tech talent. With the goal of equipping 3 million Nigerians with technical skills and connecting them with both local and international job opportunities.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the 3MTT Akwa Ibom state meetup which was conveyed by Victoria Ndu; the State Community Manager is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovations and Digital Economy led by the Honorable Minister, Dr Bosun Tijani.
The meetup featured a diverse range of activities, including keynote speeches, breakout sessions where the 12 learning tracks were allowed to network and collaborate, fireside chats, and networking opportunities. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with industry experts and thought leaders, gaining valuable insights into topics.
“We are thrilled to have hosted such a successful event here in Akwa Ibom, powering technical talents in the state,” said Victoria Ndu Community Manager at 3MTT. “The turnout exceeded our expectations, with over 350 fellows in attendance, representing a wide range of backgrounds and skill levels. It’s clear that there is a strong appetite for tech education and collaboration in this region, and we are committed to supporting the growth and development of the local tech ecosystem.”
The lineup of speakers featured prominent figures in the Nigerian tech community, including:
- David Inyang-Etoh, Senior Software Engineer at Receeve GmbH, Germany, who spoke on “Hacking Growth for the Future of Work.”
- Enoabasi Emah, CEO of Sheedx Africa and Chief Technology Officer at Everest Online Academy, who discussed “Opportunities in the Tech Industry and How to Leverage Them.”
- Tony Onuk, Co-Founder/CEO of The RootHub, who explored “Open Source and Innovation: The Power of Collaboration and Community-Driven Development in Technology.”
- Francis Onuk Co- Founder of The RootHub who shared on Product Development & Design Thinking: Innovative approaches to building successful tech products.
In addition to the enlightening presentations, attendees had the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions, network with peers, and engage in content-creation activities.
