No Merger Can Oust Me, My Eight Years Is Sure- Makinde Tells APC

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has promised to deliver all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in the state, with a promise to all the candidates, that ‘in Oyo State, it is PDP top to bottom.

Newsonline reports that Governor Makinde stated that his interest is only for the PDP candidates in the state who have all shown commitment to good governance in the state.

Governor Makinde stated this in a weekly email sent to our reporter, hours after he presented the 2023 budget to the state House of Assembly.

His email to our reporter read in part: “Earlier today, I presented our 2023 budget at the Oyo State Assembly. The N310 billion Budget of Sustainable Development will serve as a transition budget. As I said during my presentation, I am speaking into existence that we will be back after the inauguration of the tenth assembly to make another presentation and continue with the work of engineering a new Oyo State.”

Makinde added, “For now, we will continue working to ensure that we deliver the next elections for all candidates of the PDP in Oyo State. From what I have read, so many people are jumping the gun and trying to force decisions that we are still a long way from making. The task before us now is to strategize to ensure that in Oyo State, it is the PDP from top to bottom, which is what everyone who cares about good governance in Oyo State should be interested in.”

The Oyo State governor further called on Oyo citizens and residents to join hands with his campaign train to ensure the good governance he has brought to the state continues in 2023.

“The gospel is Omituntun 2.0. Let us all work to actualize this for the benefit of the good people of Oyo State. In the coming weeks, I will share with you the role you can play to actualize Omituntun 2.0. Perhaps something you can easily do is join one of our volunteer groups where you can either work online or engage in door-to-door canvassing,” he said.
