Wizkid has sparked fresh rivalry with Burna Boy and said ‘you save the best for the last’ at Afro Nation Portugal.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Wizkid has reignited the long-running supremacy debate with fellow Grammy winner Burna Boy after suggesting that he was chosen to close the Afro Nation Portugal because he is “the best.”
The latest exchange comes amid growing online debates between fans of both Afrobeats stars over the performance lineup at the festival.
Burna Boy’s supporters had celebrated his appearance as the opening-day headliner, arguing that organisers gave him the coveted first-day closing slot because of his global star power, placing him ahead of Wizkid and other performers on the lineup.

However, during his performance on Sunday, Wizkid appeared to address the ongoing comparisons, telling the crowd:
“Big Wiz is here. This is why you save the best for the last, baby.”
The statement quickly went viral across social media platforms, with many fans interpreting it as a subtle response to the debate over why he was scheduled to perform on the festival’s final day.
The latest comments have further fueled the rivalry between the two Afrobeats heavyweights, with supporters of both artistes continuing to argue over who holds the bigger global influence.
The renewed tension follows a fallout between Wizkid and Burna Boy a few months ago after Burna Boy allegedly confronted Wizkid’s official disc jockey, DJ Tunez, at a nightclub in Lagos, sparking speculation about a strained relationship between the two music stars.
