Unity Bank has empowered 578 Youth Entrepreneurs through Corpreneurship Challenge and 30 new winners receive ₦16 million grants.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Unity Bank Plc has deepened its investment in youth entrepreneurship as the total number of beneficiaries of its flagship Corpreneurship Challenge has now reached 578, following the emergence of 30 new winners in the latest edition of the initiative.

The winners, drawn from 10 states across Nigeria during the NYSC 2025 Batch B, Stream II orientation course, collectively received ₦16 million in business grants to kickstart and expand their ventures in various sectors including fashion design, agro-processing, event management, beverages, and crafts.

At the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ipaja, Lagos, Fiyinfoluwa Titilayo Ojo, a soap maker, clinched the ₦800,000 grand prize, while Ndukwe Chiamaka Joan (small chops business) and Barakat Modinat Olamide (beverage production) won ₦500,000 and ₦300,000, respectively.

Expressing her excitement, Ojo described the win as life-changing:

“I’m truly grateful to Unity Bank for this opportunity. Winning the Corpreneurship Challenge has given me the confidence to grow my soap-making business. Beyond the grant, the experience helped me structure my business better and believe in its future. It’s inspiring to see a bank genuinely investing in young people’s dreams.”

Similar presentations were held in Delta, Kaduna, Jigawa, Kwara, Benue, Abia, Kogi, Rivers, and Plateau States, where 27 other corps members were rewarded for innovative business ideas spanning fish and poultry farming, printing, piggery, cake production, and more.

Over the last six years, the Unity Bank Corpreneurship Challenge has become a major highlight of the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, supporting thousands of youth-driven business ideas and encouraging self-reliance amid rising unemployment.

Speaking at the Lagos grand finale, Mrs. Adenike Abimbola, Unity Bank’s Divisional Head, Retail & SME, reaffirmed the bank’s long-term commitment to youth enterprise:

“At Unity Bank, we recognize the energy and creativity of Nigerian youth as key to driving economic transformation. The Corpreneurship Challenge enables corps members to turn their ideas into viable businesses through funding, mentorship, and exposure. Seeing over 578 young entrepreneurs benefit so far inspires us to scale the initiative and strengthen Nigeria’s SME ecosystem.”

With over 2,000 entries per edition, the Unity Bank Corpreneurship Challenge has earned widespread acclaim for promoting youth empowerment, innovation, and job creation. The programme continues to offer grants of up to ₦800,000, helping corps members transition from skill acquisition to successful business ownership.
