Abia Governor Alex Otti has warned APC and other politicians in the state against election rigging ahead of 2027 polls.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has issued a strong warning to politicians plotting to manipulate the 2027 general elections, saying anyone planning to rig should first prepare their will.

Speaking during the October edition of “Alex Otti Speaks to Abians” at the Government House, Umuahia, the governor emphasized that only the will of God and the people will determine the next leadership of the state.

In a video shared on Channels Television’s YouTube page, Otti said:

“I have heard that some people are saying they must take over this state, that they will write election results. My advice to them is simple — if they truly want to write results, they should first write their will.”

The governor made the comment while responding to a question regarding a recent statement attributed to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who reportedly boasted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would take over Abia in 2027.

Otti, who won the 2023 governorship election under the Labour Party (LP), ending over two decades of PDP dominance in Abia politics, maintained that his administration would resist any attempt to subvert the democratic will of the people.

His statement underscores growing political tension and early power play ahead of the next governorship race in the state.
