1. The House of Senate will on Tuesday, 13th of December, 2022, debate the latest Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) policy on cash withdrawal limits. During the Wednesday plenary, Senate Minority Leader Aduda Phillip, in a point of order, drew the attention of his colleagues to the CBN’s new policy and demanded caution as it will affect many citizens, especially small business owners.

2. The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has disclosed that it invited the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences commission (ICPC) to probe the alleged fraud in the N-Power programme. According to reports, singer, D’banj colluded with some government officials to introduce ghost beneficiaries into the payroll of the scheme.

3. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has knocked the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for expressing doubts over the credibility of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System and Results Viewing Portal which will be deployed for the 2023 election. The commission expressed shock that the APC candidate could question the efficiency of the technology.

4. Former President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday said he will never contest for the Presidency of the country again. He said he would be diminishing himself if he decided to begin to lobby people and campaign for election again.

5. A 27-year-old man and father of three children, Mr Emmanuel Sanwo-Olu, has filed a suit before the Delta State High Court 2 sitting in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, urging the court to declare the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as his father. The young man had said his mother told him the governor is his father.

6. A former Accountant-General in Cross River State, Rose Bassey, has been kidnapped by gunmen. It was gathered that the victim and three others were abducted on Tuesday at Uyanga-Okomita axis of the Ikom-Calabar highway.

7. The British government has told the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the United Kingdom has no preferred presidential candidate among the 18 contestants for next year’s election. High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, made the clarification when she led a delegation on a visit to the Abdullahi Adamu-led APC national leadership at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, yesterday.

8. Some major roads in Osogbo, Osun State, were, yesterday, shut for hours during the presidential campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa. All the roads that led to Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, venue of the programme, were closed from Gbodofon to Olaiya Flyover to Old Garage.

9. Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, has ordered the opening of the 2nd Niger Bridge, which is in the 95 percent completion stage, to ease traffic during the Yuletide. Federal Controller of Works in Delta State, Mr Jimoh Olawale, who made the disclosure in Asaba, however, said the bridge would be open for only 30 days.

10. The Federal Government has redeemed its pledge of a house to former Coach of the Super Eagles, Clemens Westerhof, who led the Eagles to win their second African Cup of Nations title in 1994. Minister of Works and Housing ,Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, handed over the key to the House to Mr. Westerhof in Abuja, Wednesday.
