Seven times Ballon d’Or winner and the latest World Cup winner, Lionel Messi, on Sunday night wrote that his dreams for many years came through at the final match of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Newsonline reports that Messi’s Argentina lifted the biggest world football competition trophy on Sunday after defeating by penalty shoot-out the former world champions France.
Recall that France in 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia defeated Argentina led by Messi in the semi-final to play Croatia in the final, winning the cup after their last win in 1998.
In what seemed like a fight to redeem glory, the Argentine legend who has won almost all there is in men’s football crowned his effort along with his teammate to lift the World Cup on Sunday.

Taking to his Instagram handle on Sunday night, Messi wrote, “CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!!!!!! So many times I dreamed it, so much I wanted it that I still don’t fall. I can’t believe it.”
Messi added, “Thank you so much to my family, to all who support me and also to all who believed in us. We prove once again that Argentinians when we fight together and united we are able to achieve what we aim.
“The merit is of this group, which is above individuals, is the strength of all fighting for the same dream that was also the one of all Argentinians.
“We did it!!! LET’S GO ARGENTINA DAMN!!!!. We’re seeing each other soon.”
