Suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduagha has threatened a legal action over resumption delay.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduagha, has warned that she will take legal action against the Clerk of the National Assembly, Kamorudeen Ogunlana, if prevented from resuming plenary on Monday.

Her threat was contained in a letter dated September 10, 2025, and signed by her counsel, Chief Michael Numa, SAN. The letter cited an existing court order mandating her resumption and accused the National Assembly of deliberate disobedience.

“Take notice that failure to comply by Monday, 15th September 2025, will leave us with no alternative but to initiate proceedings against you personally and in your official capacity,” the letter read.

According to her counsel, the refusal of the National Assembly to obey a valid court directive amounts to a violation of the Constitution and the Code of Conduct for Public Officers.

The senator also vowed to pursue contempt proceedings and other disciplinary measures, stressing that the Clerk would be held accountable for instigating a potential breach of peace.

“We strongly advise that you reconsider your untenable stance and comply with the Constitution and extant judicial orders,” the letter concluded.
