The real reason Delta Governor dumped PDP for APC has emerged.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Senator James Manager, who once represented Delta South Senatorial District and was the first chairman of the PDP in Delta State, has shared why Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and several key leaders have left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking after a major stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Asaba, Manager said the PDP is facing serious internal problems and compared it to a sinking boat.

He explained that after a lot of discussions and consultations, it became clear to party leaders that staying in the PDP was no longer an option.

Manager acknowledged his personal connection to the party, having been involved from the very beginning, but said their decision was made together, not individually.

He pointed to a recent meeting in Ibadan, where PDP governors ruled out any merger with other political parties, as one of the reasons many members lost hope.

With only about 11 or 12 governors left, Manager questioned how the PDP could realistically challenge a sitting president in a national election.

He also criticized the ongoing leadership crisis within the PDP, especially the confusion over who currently holds the position of National Secretary.

Manager said the situation has become embarrassing, with different people making conflicting claims and no clear direction from the party.

In his view, the PDP is facing challenges it has never encountered before, and the Delta State chapter of the party could no longer continue on what he described as a sinking ship.
