According to reports, the Federal Government had budgeted N50 billion for the execution of its student loan system in 2024. This was stated in the budget appropriation information for 2024.

In response to questions about the student loan programme, which is planned to commence in January 2024, Sununu stated: “I want to tell you that we are on track. The committee is working day in and day out. The whole thing is going to be online, not through physical access. A website that will make for easy access is being developed.”
