Spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for the presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Festus Keyamo, has made a mockery of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku, the national chairman, Ayu Iyorchia and other parties to the PDP Crisis.
Newsonline reports that Keyom wondered how Atiku and PDP would rescue the country as they claimed when they cannot resolve the internal crisis holding the party down since it had its presidential primary in May 28 and 29.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Keyamo, said PDP has been unable to resolve its crisis because it cannot control the billowing it gathers every day.
Recall that the former Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs who was appointed in his position in August had on September 9 mocked the same opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by requesting Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate helps to unify them.
“PDP that’s in crisis because of its inability to control its billowing umbrella gathers every day and the first thing you hear them say is that they want to ‘rescue’ Nigeria; like a teenager whose legs cannot find the clutch of a car wanting to drive a trailer! ‘No be juju be that?’
On the 9th of September, Keyamo said, “If PDP begs us, we may consider donating the real UNIFIER, Ahmed Bola Tinubu to assist in unifying their ranks to get them ready for their comprehensive defeat in 2023.”
He added that his suggestion was because “We want a healthy opposition during the election. We don’t want the excuse that we fought with a disabled opponent.”

On Wednesday, Governor Nyesom Wike’s camp which includes, Makinde of Oyo; Olusegun Mimiko, former governor of Ondo State; Bode George, former national deputy chairman of the PDP; and others pulled out of Atiku’s campaign council team.
The camp which comprises mostly PDP stakeholders in Southern Nigeria said their action to pull out from the campaign council of the party was not because of Wike’s disagreement with the national chairman, Ayu Iyorchia and the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, but because Ayu must resign from his position for peace and justice.
The call for Ayu’s resignation was born out of an alleged promise Wike said he made in Abuja at the house of the governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, where he was quoted to have said, he would resign if a Northerner emerges as the PDP presidential candidate.
Though Ayu has not made any statement to discredit the claim of Wike, he has, however, refused to resign and has been able to get a vote of confidence for the party’s National Executive Council (NEC).
The presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has often times said the call for the resignation of the former senate president was a constitutional matter which he cannot implement and would cause a constitutional crisis for the party.
Atiku added that Ayu is the only one that can decide to resign from his party, while he called for the focus of all stakeholders to ensure the party gets power in 2023 election.
In a statement on Wednesday, the former vice president said, “On the calls for the resignation or removal from office of our national chairman, however, I must reiterate what I have said severally in public and in private; the decision for Dr. Iyorchia Ayu to resign from office is personal to Dr. Ayu and, neither I nor anyone else can make that decision for him.
“As to the calls for the removal of Dr. Ayu from office, however, I will state that, as a committed democrat and firm believer in the rule of law and democratic tenets, and our party being one set up, organized and regulated by law and our constitution, it is my absolute belief that everything that we do in our party must be done in accordance with, and conformity to, the law and our constitution.
“If Dr. Ayu is to be removed from office, it must be done in accordance with the laws that set out the basis for such removal. In any event, you will all recall that the very body that is empowered by law to initiate this removal from office, has already passed a vote of confidence in him”.
