Nigerians have disagreed with the endorsement of Tinubu, APC presidential candidate by billionaire Femi Otedola, stating that Otedola’s endorsement was because ASUU strike cannot affect his daughter DJ Cuppy who is schooling at Oxford University.
Newsonline reports that since Femi Otedola endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu, most netizens who have been singing his praises are alleging the billionaire benefits from Nigeria that has not been working.
A tweep, FS Yusuf, @FS_Yusuf_, stated, “DJ Cuppy is in Oxford University, you are in Yaba Tech. ASUU strike can never affect her but ASUU strike can halt your destiny. Otedola has the right to endorse a candidate and u have the right to reject it. Think twice. Suffer no be life.”
Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU has been on strike for five months, a situation that has closed the country’s higher education system, as many undergraduate and graduate students are at home.
ASUU is demanding that the APC ruling Federal government keeps it agreement it had with ASUU in 2009.
ASUU is also demanding an improved and better teaching and research environment to ensure Nigerian graduates are equal to those of other countries.
DJ Cuppy, Femi Otedola’s second daughter is an undergraduate at Oxford University London.
Since her enrolment, DJ Cuppy, who is heavily followed by the country’s youths has always updated her fans with the efficient university of Oxford and the general education system of England.
Femi Otedola on Tuesday endorsed Bola Tinubu, former Lagos State governor for president, after visiting him in France where he is receiving medical treatment.
“May God grant him his heart’s desire in becoming the President of this great Nation,” Otedola posted on his social media account.
