1. Kano State governor-elect, Abba Kabir Yusuf has alleged that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has released millions of naira to local government chairmen for Saturday’s supplementary elections in the state. This was contained in a public advisory made available to newsmen by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor-elect.

2. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday, distributed electoral materials needed for the supplementary election in Kebbi, Adamawa and other states.

3. President-elect, Bola Tinubu, is currently taking a rest in Europe ahead of his inauguration on May 29, according to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary of the ruling party, said this during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme.

4. The Independent National Electoral Commission is set to prosecute over 200 persons arrested for various electoral offences during the just concluded general elections. Already, the Nigeria Police Force has transferred over 50 case files of electoral offences to the electoral umpire.

5. The Rivers State Police Command said its operatives arrested a child trafficking syndicate, including three women, operating within and outside the state. The command stated that the arrests followed a complaint lodged by a woman in Ubima, in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state, that her child was missing.

6. The Ebonyi State Police Command, on Friday, announced the arrest of four persons over the murder of a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Peter Nweke. Nweke was tortured to death by hoodlums suspected to be loyalists of a rival party on March 18, 2023, the day of the Governorship and House of Assembly Elections in the state.

7. Goods and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed when fire gutted over 200 shops at the Ojoto market in the Mile 2 axis of Diobu in Port Harcourt. The incident took place when most of the traders had already closed for the day. Though the cause of the inferno could not be ascertained yet, eyewitnesses said it was from an electric spark when the public power supply was restored that night.

8. The All Progressives Congress is yet to adopt a zoning arrangement for principal offices of the National Assembly. Some members of the National Working Committee of the party disclosed this to journalists yesterday.

9. Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, on Friday, emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the state’s forthcoming election. Uzodimma was declared as the party’s candidate for the November 11 exercise by the Chairman of the Imo State Governorship Primary Election Committee, Rear Admiral William Koyoda (retd.).

10. The governing All Progressives Congress has debunked speculation that its National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu was rushed abroad for medical treatment.
