1. Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu yesterday evening, returned to Abuja, Nigeria. Tinubu’s arrival comes days after speculations that he was hospitalized in the United Kingdom.

2. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed on Thursday disclosed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will leave no kobo in Nigeria’s treasury if the party wins the 2023 presidential election. He said it will be impossible for PDP to change from its vice of looting the public treasury if it ever has access to power.

3. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has told the public that it has sufficient stock of petroleum products and that the public should not give in to panic buying. The company in a statement on Thursday by Garba Muhammad, Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, NNPC Ltd. said the current queue situation in Abuja and its environs was a result of delays in the arrival of fuel trucks.

4. President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday met with the freed 23 passengers of the March 28, 2022, Abuja-Kaduna train attack. According to Malam Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, Buhari met the victims at the Nigerian Defence Academy hospital in Kaduna State.

5. In a rare occurrence on Thursday, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State visited some of the communities ravaged by flood in the State on canoes. The flood has made the highways impassable for travellers from or through Lokoja to Abuja, thereby creating gridlocks and serious hardship on Nigerians.

6. The Rivers State House of Assembly yesterday during a plenary, de-recognised Celestine Omehia as a former Governor of the State. Following the development, Omehia was asked to refund all monetary entitlement he received as a governor amounting to N600 million within seven day.

7. A trader, Wasiu Oduwole, has demanded justice after a traditional ruler, Nureni Oduwaye, allegedly kicked his eye at the Moore Blessing Hotel, Ikenne, in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State. The victim claimed he could no longer see with the eye. It was gathered that Oduwaye perpetrated the act after allegedly accusing Wasiu of dancing with his queen during a birthday celebration at the hotel.

8. Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has noted with great concern the socio-economic hardship ravaging millions of Nigerians, urging the federal and State governments to take urgent steps to address the challenges of hunger, mass poverty, unemployment and high cost of foods.

9. The Court of Appeal, Abuja, will today decide the fate of the two applications filed by the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), challenging the interlocutory injunction of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN), asking members of the union to go back to work.
The Federal Government had asked the appellate court to dismiss the appeal for being incompetent.

10. The Federal High Court, Abuja, has dismissed an alleged attempted murder suit brought by a former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, against his estranged wife, Precious Chikwendu. The dismissal of the suit by Justice Inyang Ekwo was predicated upon the dramatic withdrawal by the former minister. When the case came up for arraignment, the prosecution counsel, Mr John Ijagbemi, informed the court that he had the instructions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to discontinue with the matter.
