1. The First Lady, Aisha Buhari, on Friday in Abuja, said the newly inaugurated N21bn presidential wing of the State House Medical Centre would end the need for future presidents and their family members to seek medical treatment abroad. She said this when she joined President Muhammadu Buhari and other dignitaries to inaugurate the facility at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
2. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has dismissed the allegations by Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, that the agency was witch-hunting him for refusing to give its Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa $2m bribe.
The Spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement on Friday night urged the outgoing Zamfara governor to provide evidence to support his claim.
3. Lawyers to embattled Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, have accused the police of disobeying a court order by withholding the artiste’s case file. The lawyers, in a statement on Friday, called on the Lagos State Deputy Commissioner of Police, Simon Lough, to obey the order of a magistrate’s court to send the artiste’s case file to the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

The Enugu State Governor-elect, Mr Peter Mbah has filed a N20 billion suit against the National Youth Service Corps at the Federal High Court, over alleged conspiracy, deceit, and misrepresentation of facts. Justice Inyang Ekwo had on Monday, upon a motion ex-parte by Mbah’s counsel, Mr Emeka Ozoani (SAN), stopped NYSC from disclaiming Mbah’s certificate.

The Federal Government has ordered the closure of roads linking Federal Secretariat Complexes of Phases I, II, III and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2pm on Friday, May 26, to Monday, May 29. The Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, Head of the Service of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), Dr Ngozi Onwudiwe, said this in a circular on Friday in Abuja.
6. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein as the substantive Accountant General of the Federation (AGF). No fewer than 125 dead bodies were recovered and given mass burial in the past three days, Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA), a socio-cultural organisation in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, has said. This is as the Plateau State Police Command also claimed a total of 117 bodies were recovered.
9. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has commenced a nationwide raid of drug joints ahead of the May 29 inauguration of the new government in the country. According to Femi Babafemi, the Director, Media and Advocacy of the agency, 534 drug suspects have been arrested during the operation code-named Operation Mop Up.
10. The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, Dare Ogundare, on Friday, paraded 16 suspects arrested for various criminal activities. Four of them were nabbed over alleged kidnapping in the Oke Ako area of the state and parts of Kwara State.
