1. Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared one Gift David Okpara Okpolowu, a.k.a. 2-Baba and all members of his criminal gang wanted for the murder of a Divisional Police Officer, Bako Angbashim, in Odiemudie Community, Ahoada East local government area of the state. Also, Fubara announced a N100 million bounty on 2-Baba, for anyone who gives useful information that would lead to his arrest and prosecution.

2. The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, Haruna Garba, on Saturday, revealed that an operative of the Department of State Services who was involved in a shooting incident that left several persons injured and hospitalised has been arrested and detained. He said investigation was still ongoing into the incident while denying allegations that the DSS operative was walking free.

3. The North East Governors’ Forum has urged the military to kill insurgents who fail to surrender in the ongoing mass surrender by terrorists in the sub-region. The Chairman of the North East Governors’ Forum, Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno, made the call on Saturday in Maiduguri at the 8th meeting of the forum.

4. Morocco’s deadliest earthquake in decades has killed more than 1,000 people, authorities said Saturday, as troops and emergency services scrambled to reach remote mountain villages where casualties are still feared trapped. The 6.8-magnitude quake struck late Friday in a mountainous area 72 kilometres (45 miles) southwest of tourist hotspot Marrakesh.

5. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Saturday in New Delhi, India, urged the Global North, advanced economies and multilateral institutions to mobilize resources and direct efforts to where help is needed most in the disadvantaged Global South. The president made the call while addressing world leaders at the 18th G-20 Leaders’ Summit.

6. Minister of Works Senator Dave Umahi has called on the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi not to contemplate appealing the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) which affirmed the victory of President Bola Tinubu at the poll, saying Obi will fail in the appeal court.

7. Ondo Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has proven critics wrong by performing his first official duties less than 48 hours after he returned from medical vacation. Governor Akeredolu assented to the bill creating 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.

8. The Adamawa State Government on Saturday confirmed the recovery of eight bodies after a canoe accident in Yola South Local Government Area. The government also said eight of the passengers had been found alive while the search for seven others was still on.

9. Senator Emmanuel Udende who represents Benue North East senatorial district at the National Assembly on Saturday assured his constituents that his election would be consolidated at the Court of Appeal. Udende gave the assurance while reacting to Friday’s judgment of the National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Makurdi, which upturned his victory at the February 25, 2023 elections.

10. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested 41 suspected internet fraudsters in Warri, Delta State. It was gathered that the arrest followed a sting operation based on intelligence reports. The suspects were apprehended by the operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC.
