President Tinubu has appointed Abel Enitan as thew Head of Civil Service of the Federation.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mr Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective August 27, 2026.
The appointment was announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Enitan will succeed Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who is due to retire from the Federal Civil Service after attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.
According to the Presidency, Enitan, who hails from Osun State, is the most senior permanent secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

He has served as a permanent secretary for seven years and seven months, with postings to the Ministry of Police Affairs, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Office of the Vice President.
Until his appointment, Enitan was the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education.
Tinubu thanked Walson-Jack for her distinguished service to Nigeria and praised the reforms, innovations and impact recorded in the Civil Service during her tenure.
The President wished her a fulfilling retirement and conveyed the country’s appreciation for her years of dedicated public service.
Tinubu also charged Enitan to consolidate the reforms already underway and deepen professionalism, efficiency and accountability across the Civil Service.
He urged the incoming Head of Service to build a merit-driven, innovative and responsive institution capable of meeting Nigerians’ needs and advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
