NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Azeez Adeshina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has made a resolute commitment to return to Nigeria and cooperate with the police in their ongoing investigation into the tragic death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, alias Mohbad.

On the evening of September 26, 2023, Naira Marley took to his Instagram account to set the record straight, firmly asserting that he is not a fugitive and that he intends to present his perspective upon his return.

In his official statement, Naira Marley lamented the onslaught on his character since Mohbad’s passing and categorically denied any role in the tragic incident. He clarified that he had been out of the country for over a week before Mohbad’s unfortunate demise.

Naira Marley’s statement included the following words: “I have been out of the country since August 31, 2023, and I am making arrangements to return to Nigeria to assist with the ongoing police investigation. I am fully cooperating with the police team and have no reason to be a fugitive when I am innocent of any wrongdoing in his death.”

The artist emphasized his unwavering commitment to truth and expressed his complete cooperation with the authorities to help resolve the case. He vowed to provide evidence to vindicate his innocence, reiterating that he had no involvement in Mohbad’s death in any manner.

Furthermore, Naira Marley revealed that his legal representatives were already in contact with law enforcement agencies and would support the investigation in every necessary way. He pledged to honour Mohbad’s memory and provide justice for him and his family.

Naira Marley went on to address allegations that he had mistreated or harassed Mohbad during their association. He emphatically denied sending anyone to intimidate or harm Mohbad while he was alive.

Mohbad, who had been a member of Naira Marley’s record label until September 2022, tragically passed away on September 12, 2023.

Following his death, speculations had arisen, linking Naira Marley, his associate Sammy Larry, and their label to the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s demise. Naira Marley has now firmly distanced himself from these allegations.
