Miss Universe Executive Director has been dismissed after humiliating Miss Mexico.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Executive Director of the Miss Universe Organization, Nawat Itsaragrisil, has been dismissed from the 2025 pageant following an incident in which he reportedly humiliated Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch.

The incident occurred during a pre-pageant ceremony in Thailand, where Nawat allegedly called Bosch “dumb” for not posting promotional content on her social media accounts.

In response, Bosch described the comment as “disrespectful and undermining”, prompting her to walk out alongside contestants from several other countries in a show of solidarity.

Reacting to the controversy, Miss Universe President Raúl Rocha announced Nawat’s sanction and removal from this year’s competition via an Instagram video.

Speaking in Spanish, Rocha said:

“I have restricted Nawat’s participation in the events that are part of the 74th Miss Universe competition. I won’t let the values of respect and dignity of women be violated.”

The decision underscores the Miss Universe Organization’s commitment to respect, dignity, and empowerment of contestants, sending a clear message against inappropriate behavior within the pageant.
