This Nigeria news platform understands that the new report by Jim Obaze, the special investigator on Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and related entities to President Bola Tinubu alleged the decision to redesign the new currency notes was suggested to Godwin Emefiele, former CBN Governor by Yusuf during his visit to the Presidential Villa in September 2022.

It was gathered that the naira redesign policy was sold to Buhari at the instance of Yusuf and that the initiative was done without the approval of the board of the CBN.

Born in 1985, He is renowned for being the nephew of former president Buhari. His familial connection to the former president stems from his lineage, being the son of Buhari’s niece and the younger sister to Mamman Daura, who is regarded as the president’s closest confidant.
Yusuf was named after the Late Babatunde ‘Tunde’ Abdulbaki Idiagbon, who was a significant figure in the history of Nigeria and served as the chief of staff at Supreme Headquarters during the military regime of Major General Muhammadu Buhari from 1983 to 1985. This connection to Idiagbon, known for his integrity and loyalty to President Buhari, further solidified Tunde Sabiu’s ties to the Buhari family.
