Appeal Court has ordered ASUU to suspend the ongoing strike immediately.

Newsonline reports that granted the application by the Federal government on the ground that ASUU failed to obey the ruling of the Industrial Court which had ordered its members to return to class before filing an appeal.

The court then ordered ASUU to obey the lower court’s ruling and calls off the strike immediately, pending the determination of the substantive suit.

The court gave ASUU seven days within which to file the appeal following the obedience to the ruling of the lower court.

The National Industrial Court, on Sept. 21, ordered ASUU to call off the strike. Ruling on the interlocutory injunction, the trial judge, Justice Polycarp Hamman, restrained ASUU from continuing with the industrial action pending the determination of the suit filed against ASUU by the Federal Government.
