Speaking during a media parley, Wike said: “Ayu had an agenda, he came to amass wealth, and I have said this before. Do you know how many people have given him money? Is Ayu not building a university? Where did the money come from?”

Wike and his G-5 governors had tackled Ayu while he was PDP’s National Chairman.

The governor had said it was wrong for the North to produce a National Chairman and presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

In the heat of the face-off, Wike had accused Ayu of corrupt practices.
