GTCO has unveiled the 9th Edition of Fashion Weekend, themed “Fashion Is Timeless”.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO) has unveiled the ninth edition of its flagship GTCO Fashion Weekend, scheduled for November 7 and 8, 2026, at the GTCentre, Oniru, Lagos, under the theme, “Fashion Is Timeless.”

The two-day event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily and is free and open to the public.

According to GTCO, this year’s edition will celebrate fashion as a lasting expression of creativity, culture and identity, while promoting enterprise and supporting the growth of Africa’s fashion industry. The platform will provide fashion entrepreneurs with opportunities to showcase their designs, reach new customers and expand their businesses.

The 2026 edition will feature masterclasses led by professionals from the global fashion and beauty industries, including fashion entrepreneur, model and digital creator Sherlina Nym; Rachel Ojuromi; and Renee Morris, founder of natural hair brand Uncle Funky’s Daughter. Buttah Skin will also lead a skincare masterclass.

The runway programme will feature designers from Africa and beyond. Day one will showcase collections from Tongoro, FIA Factory, Ibrahim Fernandez, Washington Roberts, Maison Sara Chraibi and Imane Ayissi.

The second day will feature Sukeina, House of Marvee, Selam Fessahaye, Kim Shui, Ohlanna Bu Zikora and LaQuan Smith.

Beyond the runway shows and masterclasses, visitors will have access to 140 curated fashion retail stores offering a range of fashion items at accessible prices. The event will also feature a dedicated Streetwear Hub highlighting contemporary fashion and emerging cultural influences.

Commenting on the event, GTCO Group Chief Executive Officer, Segun Agbaje, said the Fashion Weekend had grown into a platform for discovering talent, sharing knowledge and connecting fashion businesses to new markets.

“Fashion is a powerful expression of creativity and culture, but it is also an important driver of enterprise and economic opportunity. Over the past nine years, the GTCO Fashion Weekend has evolved into a platform where talent is discovered, knowledge is shared and businesses are connected to new markets,” Agbaje said.

He also announced the introduction of the GTCO Fashion Collective, a year-round platform designed to connect designers, models, stylists, photographers, editors, buyers, content creators and other stakeholders in the fashion industry.

According to him, the initiative will extend the opportunities for conversation, commerce and collaboration beyond the annual Fashion Weekend.

Agbaje said the Fashion Collective would focus on promoting the people and businesses that drive Africa’s fashion ecosystem by creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to showcase their work, connect with customers and build sustainable businesses.

He added that the initiative aligns with GTCO’s commitment to promoting enterprise and creating experiences while contributing to the growth and global recognition of African talent.

Since its launch, GTCO Fashion Weekend has developed into a consumer-focused fashion and enterprise platform, bringing together designers, retailers, creatives, entrepreneurs and fashion enthusiasts.

Through runway showcases, retail opportunities and industry masterclasses, the initiative seeks to connect fashion businesses with consumers and new markets, while highlighting the industry’s contribution to cultural expression and economic activity.

The 2026 edition will hold at the GTCentre, Plot 1, Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Lagos, on November 7 and 8.
