Governor Oborevwori has vowed not to dump PDP amid the ongoing romance with President Tinubu and the APC.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Charles Aniagwu, Delta State Commissioner for Works, Rural Roads and Public Information, has dismissed the rumour that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori may soon dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

This Nigeria news platform understands that Aniagwu dispelled the rumour following the perceived relationship between the governor and President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on Arise TV on Friday, the commissioner said those spreading the rumour only want the governor to swell their rank.

He maintained that the PDP remains a strong party in Delta State and that the governor is doing his best to for the party.

He said, ‘The PDP is heavily pronounced and profound in Delta. That explains to you that those who are rumouring that Oborevwori wants to move to the APC are only wishing that he comes to swell up their rank.

“Oborevwori is not only a proud member of the PDP, and remains a proud leader of the PDP both in Delta and in Nigeria, he is also a performing governor, who has also been able to show that he can be regarded as the poster governor for the PDP. So, those who are wishing that he’s jumping ship, we want to tell them that Oborevwori is not in the business of jumping ship.”

You’ll recall that President Tinubu recently attended the governor’s son’s wedding where he described Oborevwori as a bridge builder.

During the opening ceremony of 5th Edition of Delta State Communication Workshop in December 2024, the governor vowed to continue to support Tinubu’s administration.
