Fulani Herdsmen has assaulted Benue Community in a fresh Monday night attack.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the residents of Ondo community in Ugboju, Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, fled their homes on Tuesday morning following a fresh attack by suspected armed herdsmen.
The attackers were said to have stormed the community in the early hours of the day, opening fire indiscriminately and forcing residents to escape to safer locations.

A native of the community and the Labour Party’s House of Assembly candidate for the 2027 election, Jimmy Nart, confirmed the incident, saying the attack was still ongoing at the time of filing this report.
In a message shared on Tuesday morning, Nart alerted residents to the unfolding violence.
“I just received information from my family that Fulani terrorists are currently attacking Ondo, Ugboju. Protect yourself,” he wrote.
The latest assault comes barely 48 hours after suspected armed herdsmen reportedly invaded the Otukpo-Nobi community in the same Otukpo Local Government Area, where more than 18 people were said to have lost their lives.
As of the time of filing this report, the number of casualties or the extent of property damage resulting from the latest attack could not be independently verified.
Efforts to obtain an official response from the Benue State Police Command were unsuccessful. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, did not respond to calls or a text message seeking confirmation of the incident.
Residents described the situation as tense, with many families abandoning their homes amid fears of further attacks.
The renewed violence has heightened concerns over the security situation in parts of Benue State, where repeated attacks on farming communities have continued to claim lives and displace residents.
