FirstBank has refuted fraud allegations in a trendy video and called claims baseless.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that FirstBank has strongly denied recent allegations of fraud circulating in a report by ThisDay Newspaper, Arise Television, and an accompanying video related to a court case filed by a customer, Dr. Agbai Eke.

 

In a corporate statement made available to NewsOnline Nigeria, the bank dismissed the claims as entirely unfounded and false. According to its internal findings, the issue stems from unprofessional and unethical dealings between Dr. Agbai Eke and a former FirstBank employee. These transactions, facilitated through a personal relationship, were conducted without the bank’s knowledge or involvement.

“As the case is currently before the court, we will refrain from further comments to allow for due legal process,” the statement read. FirstBank also confirmed that a report has been filed with law enforcement, and ongoing investigations have yielded useful statements from the individuals involved.

 

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and accountability, FirstBank assured stakeholders that it upholds the highest standards of integrity and professionalism while prioritizing customer protection.
