FG has declared Monday Public Holiday.
News Online reports that President Muhammadu Buhari’s government through Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola has declared the June 14 as a public holiday.

Making the declaration on behalf of the federal government, the minister said that the day is set aside to celebrate this year’s Democracy Day.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Shuaib Belgore.
The government, with the statement, called for support to enhance the unity of the country while discouraging agitations that can threaten it.

Mr Aregbesola said: “As we mark another Democracy Day in the history of our dear country, let us reflect on the efforts of our founding fathers and ensure that Nigeria remains one united and indivisible entity. No development can take place in acrimonious environment.”
“With the challenges we face in Nigeria today, I see an opportunity for us not to break up or break down but to break open; open up to ourselves in truth, so that we may appreciate each other, understand each other, honour each other and live together in peace and prosperity,” he added.

He further appealed to all to love one another in brotherliness while assuring that President Muhammadu Buhari is determined to ensure the safety of lives and properties.
