Esanland Farmers have backed SDP’s Idumonza Isidahomhen for Edo Central Senate Seat.

In a significant political boost ahead of the August 16 senatorial bye-election, farmers across Esanland have thrown their weight behind the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Idumonza Isidahomhen.

The endorsement came during a meeting in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area, on Monday, August 11, where members of the farmers’ association, led by their state chairman, Mr. Henry Ebole, unanimously declared their support.

Ebole praised Idumonza’s proven track record and in-depth knowledge of agricultural issues affecting Esan communities, describing him as the most qualified contender to represent Edo Central in the Senate.

According to the farmers, Idumonza’s commitment to revitalizing agriculture in Esanland sets him apart from other candidates.

Speaking at the gathering, Idumonza pledged to transform Esanland into a leading producer of at least two key crops in Nigeria.

“Esanland may not be the best in everything agriculturally, but we will be the best in specific crops. That is a goal I will vigorously pursue in the Senate. This vision will generate jobs, boost incomes for farmers, and increase revenue for the government,” he assured, addressing the FADAMA executives from the five Local Government Areas of Esanland.

With this high-profile endorsement from the agricultural sector, analysts say Idumonza’s candidacy is gaining momentum as the bye-election approaches.
