President Trump has declassified the Kennedy and King Assassination Files.

NewsOnline Nigeriareports that US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to declassify files related to the assassinations of former President John F. Kennedy, his brother and former Senator Robert Kennedy, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

The decision fulfils a campaign promise by Trump to bring transparency to the investigations of these high-profile assassinations, which remain shrouded in conspiracy theories and speculation.

Announcing the decision on Thursday, Trump described the order as a long-overdue step in addressing the public’s demands for clarity.

He said, “The executive action is ordering the declassification of files relating to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.

“That’s a big one, huh? A lot of people have been waiting for this for a long — for years, for decades.”

The release will include thousands of documents that have either never been made public or were previously released with significant redactions.

The assassinations of the Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther King Jr. have long been the subject of intense speculation.

A significant portion of the American public has questioned the official narratives, with some alleging the involvement of U.S. intelligence agencies such as the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The declassification is expected to make public approximately 3,000 previously unseen documents and an additional 30,000 files on the JFK case that were previously released in redacted form.

The files could shed light on controversial aspects of the investigations, potentially providing new insights or confirming suspicions about the events leading to the assassinations.

Background On The Assassinations

– John F. Kennedy: The 35th U.S. President was fatally shot in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963. The Warren Commission concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, but doubts persist.

– Robert F. Kennedy: The former Senator was assassinated on June 5, 1968, in Los Angeles after winning the California Democratic primary. Sirhan Sirhan was convicted for the murder, but questions remain about possible accomplices.

– Martin Luther King Jr.: The civil rights leader was killed on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee. James Earl Ray pleaded guilty but later recanted, claiming a broader conspiracy.
