National Grid

National Grid has collapsed in Nigeria and power output plummetted to 1.5MW.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the national electricity grid experienced a sudden collapse on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, plunging power generation from 2,917.83 MW to just 1.5 MW between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

The Nigeria National Grid confirmed the incident via its official X account, stating that “System restoration is in progress.”

As of the time of reporting, distribution companies (DisCos) had not released any updates regarding the impact of the collapse on electricity supply across the country.

Authorities are working to restore normal operations, and further updates are expected shortly.
