The development comes months after the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) first announced over 70 job openings in January 2025, spanning various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).

Despite the nationwide interest, many applicants had earlier complained of technical glitches while attempting to submit applications, prompting an extension of the original deadline from March 10 to March 17, 2025.

Screening and Shortlisting Now Underway

In response to speculation that the exercise had stalled, Taiwo Hassan, Head of Press and Public Relations at the FCSC, clarified to Punch that the recruitment process is actively progressing.

“We have not been quiet and we have not abandoned the exercise. Work has been ongoing,” Hassan stated.

He confirmed that shortlisted applicants have already been notified via email, along with details of the CBT test centers based on their selected locations.

“It is not correct to say those who applied have not been contacted. We have picked from those who submitted their applications. These are the ones that will sit for the CBT,” he added.

Although the FCSC did not reveal how many candidates were shortlisted, it had earlier confirmed that 2,130 vacancies are to be filled across various arms of the Federal Civil Service.
