FG sought U.S. partnership to eliminate terrorists and strengthened security across Nigeria.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Federal Government has expressed readiness to collaborate with the United States and other international allies to eliminate remaining terrorist groups and criminal networks threatening peace in Nigeria.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this known during a world press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to Idris, Nigeria’s security challenges are not driven by religion but by criminal activities that the government is determined to end.

He noted that under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, significant progress has been made in tackling insecurity — evident in Nigeria’s improved ranking on the Global Terrorism Index and the recent overhaul of the nation’s security leadership.

“The Nigerian government is open to working with international partners, including the United States, to permanently eliminate terrorists and criminals who make life difficult for citizens,” Idris stated.

He emphasized that President Tinubu remains committed to strengthening cooperation with friendly nations to address all national security concerns, while also acknowledging the U.S. position on human rights issues.

“President Tinubu is determined to confront and end all forms of insecurity in Nigeria,” he added.

The minister reaffirmed the administration’s stance that ending terrorism and criminality remains one of its top priorities as it continues to restore peace, stability, and investor confidence nationwide.
