FG, NLC, and TUC are currently in an emergency meeting over a planned nationwide strike in Nigeria.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that the President Bola Tinubu Government is currently meeting with representatives of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC.

The emergency meeting is holding at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting was at the instance of the negotiation committee set up by the Federal Government.

This was against the backdrop of the strike notice issued by the NLC earlier on Wednesday.

While the NLC representatives are led by their National President, Joe Ajaero, the TUC team is headed by its president, Festus Osifo.

Recall that NLC had issued a seven-day ultimatum to the government over the latest increment in the price of fuel.

NLC spokesperson, Mr Ben Upah had disclosed the warning strike to DAILY POST on Wednesday.

According to him, the nationwide strike would commence on August 2, 2023.
