The exchange rate between the Naira and the US dollar according to the data posted on the FMDQ Security Exchange where forex is officially traded showed that the naira opened at ₦… per dollar on Saturday, 26 February 2022, after it closed at ₦415.43 per $1 on Friday morning, February 25. This represents a change of -0.16%.

Even though the dollar to naira opened in the parallel market at ₦576 per $1 today, Newsonline reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the parallel market, otherwise known as the black market. The apex bank has therefore directed anyone who requires forex to approach their bank, insisting that the I&E window is the only known exchange.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that at the black market, the players buy a dollar for N571 and sell for N576 on Saturday morning, February 26, 2022, after they bought N571 and sold for N576 on Friday morning, February 25.

 

Meanwhile, Newsonline Nigeria reports that the USD started this week at ₦575 in Parallel Market also known as Black Market on Monday, February 21, 2022 in Lagos Nigeria, after it opened at 575 last week Monday, February 14, 2022. A change of N0.
