Atiku Abubakar has made a crucial appointment for the 2027 Presidential Campaign.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has appointed Hon. Tanimu Tahir as his Special Assistant on Youth Engagement and Strategy.

Tahir, from Marama town in Borno State, previously served as Special Assistant on Radio Affairs during Governor Babagana Zulum’s first tenure.

His appointment aims to strengthen youth participation in Atiku’s 2027 presidential campaign.

With over a decade of experience in youth development, civic engagement, and media relations, Tahir is expected to drive initiatives that connect young Nigerians with Atiku’s vision.

His role will involve mobilizing youth through digital platforms, grassroots campaigns, and town hall meetings.

Additionally, he will lead public relations efforts, social media campaigns, and collaborations with youth organizations to boost engagement.

In another related development, more details have emerged about the closed-door meeting between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta last Tuesday.

The meeting, which lasted over two hours, was held in secrecy, with both parties denying any political motives.

Atiku was accompanied by former governors Liyel Imoke, Aminu Tambuwal, and Senator Ningi.

Although they claimed the meeting was not about the 2027 elections, sources revealed that discussions focused on uniting the opposition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

During the session, Atiku and his delegation reportedly briefed Obasanjo on their consultations with political leaders across the country.

Obasanjo, who has played a key role in past political alliances, listened attentively without making any direct commitments.

While some speculated that Atiku was seeking Obasanjo’s support for another presidential bid, insiders insisted the discussion centered on broader political strategies rather than individual ambitions.

As Nigeria moves closer to the next election cycle, the meeting signals ongoing efforts by opposition figures to build a stronger coalition.
