ANAP Poll: Peterside Swayed Result To Favour Peter Obi- Atiku PCC

The second poll by ANAP Foundation that predicated that Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has the highest number of acceptability among the electorates ahead of the 2023 election has been criticized by Atiku Abubakar, presidential campaign council.

Newsonline reports that the spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council for Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa ticked alleged that the founder of ANAP Foundation, Ataedo Peterside influenced the result of the poll to favour Peter Obi.

The second nationwide poll was commissioned on 21 December 2022,  showed that the former governor of Anambra State led by 23%, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu followed by 13%, while Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar came third by 10%.

ANAP/NOI’s December poll is the second the foundation has conducted to determine which of the four major presidential candidates, Peter Obi, Tinubu, Atiku and Kwankwaso is most accepted by the citizens.

In the first poll held in September, the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi also led Tinubu, Atiku and Rabiu Kwankwaso, presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

In a short statement on its Twitter handle ANAP Foundation said, “We commissioned a 2nd nationwide poll in Dec for the 2023 general elections conducted by NOIPolls as a follow-up to the 1st Poll from Sept.

The results show Peter Obi of Labour Party in the lead with 23%. APC’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu came 2nd with 13%, whilst Atiku Abubakar came 3rd with 10%.

Daniel Bwala, PDP PCC spokesman said the poll did not represent the reality on ground. He said the explanation by the foundation founder, Atedo Peterside showed his political leaning which influenced the poll result to favour Peter Obi.

“Is any one watching channels TV where a fake polling is being analyzed by a Peter Obi surrogate? I can’t stop laughing,” Bwala said referrinf to the analysis of the poll by Peterside on national television.

He added, “If you look at the rallies of Pitobi (Peter Obi) in Akwa Ibom, Cross River and today (Thursday) in Portharcourt, you will understand that he is not a contender amd that the polling is constantly being organized to cover the obvious. Scanty and empty, yet peterside saying he leads in the SS. Joke.”

Also, former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri said Atedo Peterside who described as his favourite when he left the PDP in May 2022 can not claim an independence in the poll result.

“Look at the ‘independent’ pollster who was on Channels Television yesterday promoting his ‘objective’ poll predicting victory for Peter Obi. He forgot his previous tweets calling Obi his ‘favourite’. That so called poll is not even worth the paper it is printed on!

“If you saw what happened in Port Harcourt and still believe Atedo Peterside’s poll that Peter Obi will win, I can bet you are one of those who also lost money to MMM. Your problem is gullibility. That is why you believe Buhari has been replaced by Jubril from Sudan,” Reno added.

According to ANAP/NOI poll, Peter Obi led in South East, South South and North Central geo-political zones; Bola Tinubu led in South West Zone, while Atiku led in North West and North East.
