Agege Molebi United Forum Finally Inaugurates Pioneer Executive 12 Years After Founding

Agege Molebi United Forum has finally inaugurated pioneer executive 12 years after founding.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria more than a decade after its establishment, the Agege Molebi United Forum (AMUF), a prominent community-based non-governmental organization, has inaugurated its first-ever elected executive committee, marking a significant milestone in the group’s evolution.

 

The historic inauguration ceremony took place at the forum’s secretariat, Babaloke Villa, located at No. 20 Market Street, Gbogunleri, Isale-Oja, Agege. The event drew dignitaries from across the globe, including notable figures from the United States, Europe, and Nigeria’s public and private sectors.

Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajuddeen, Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Legislature, Politics, and Civic Engagement, was sworn in as AMUF’s first elected president. The oath of office was administered by Barrister Shola Animashaun, a respected legal practitioner and community leader.

Other members of the newly inaugurated 10-man executive committee include:

  • Rafiu Muhammed (Vice President), a banker
  • Jimoh Nurudeen Olalekan (General Secretary), a telecom security consultant
  • Wale Adeniyi (Assistant General Secretary), media practitioner
  • Dr. Waseelah Omobola Tijani (Treasurer), a lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University
  • Kamal Adalemo (Financial Secretary), realtor
  • Laketu Samsideen (Social & Welfare Secretary), business consultant
  • Opeyemi Oyetola (Publicity Secretary), entrepreneur
  • Comrade Olatunde Owoeye-Wise (Chief Whip), human rights activist and furniture supplier
  • Akin-Ajayi Akinkunle (Legal Adviser), lawyer

 

In his inaugural speech, Dr. Afolabi expressed heartfelt appreciation to members of the forum, the Board of Trustees, and the electoral committee, acknowledging their commitment to unity, transparency, and progress. He described the executive’s emergence as a collective mandate reflecting a shared vision for the development of Agege and the upliftment of its people.

“This is not just a personal victory; it is a mandate for collective progress, unity, and transformation,” Dr. Afolabi said, pledging to lead with integrity and inclusiveness.

 

The event was graced by several prominent figures including:

  • AbduGaniyu Vinod Obasa, son of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and APC vice chairmanship candidate in the upcoming local council elections
  • Dr. Agboola Afolabi Fatai, Global President of Anwarul Islam College Agege Old Students Association (formerly ACAOSA)
  • CSP Akerele Adetayo, Chairman, Lagos State Task Force
  • Hon. Jubril Adedeji Abdulkareem, Lagos Assembly member representing Agege Constituency II
  • High Chief Rashid Kuku, Baale of Gbogunleri Isale-Oja
  • ACG Tunji Aremu (Rtd.), oil and gas executive
  • Mr. Yomi Okundalaiye, UK-based entrepreneur
  • Mr. Kenneth Mabunmi, USA-based entrepreneur

In their goodwill messages, dignitaries including ACAOSA President Hon. Sola Osolana and Rt. Hon. Obasa Jr. praised the forum for its transformative mission and commitment to community development.

 

Dr. Afolabi, exercising his constitutional authority as president, formally inducted Hon. Sola Osolana and AbduGaniyu Vinod Obasa as honorary members of the forum during the event.

Founded in 2013 by ACP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi of the Nigeria Police Force, AMUF was created to rebrand the image of Agege and promote stories of excellence and resilience from the community. Over the years, the forum has led several impactful initiatives, including educational support for indigent students, welfare interventions for correctional inmates, and campaigns against cultism, electoral violence, and other social vices.

 

In his address, ACP Egbeyemi commended the newly inaugurated executive and reaffirmed the forum’s mission to sustain peace and progressive values in Agege, urging members to remain united in purpose and action.
