Access Bank has been engulfed in scandal as a staff has been reportedly caught with 400 illicit videos of female colleagues.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie, a former quality assurance specialist at Access Bank’s contact centre in Oniru, Lagos, has been caught secretly recording female colleagues in the restroom.

According to the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), multiple sources within the bank, said that Ejezie was apprehended around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday after a female staff member noticed a hidden phone recording her as she bathed. When colleagues forced open the toilet cubicle door, they found Ejezie inside.

“He said he didn’t know how he got there but couldn’t explain the ongoing video recording,” a source told FIJ.

Following his arrest, law enforcement authorities raided Ejezie’s residence, reportedly recovering more than 400 videos of both male and female colleagues in various stages of undress. Insiders told FIJ that the footage was allegedly sold online through platforms like OnlyFans and Telegram, primarily to foreign buyers.

Although Access Bank has reportedly terminated Ejezie’s employment, many of the affected staff expressed concerns that true justice may never be served. “Perhaps it is because we are contract staff,” one employee told FIJ, highlighting fears that the bank might prioritise its corporate image over protecting victims.

It was observed that Ejezie initially still listed Access Bank as his employer on his LinkedIn profile as of Friday morning. However, by the afternoon, he had updated his profile to reflect his departure from the institution. Ejezie had joined Access Bank in February 2023 and was promoted to quality assurance specialist in October of the same year.

Staff described Ejezie as a “cool” and “exceptional agent,” expressing shock at the revelations. “No one would ever have thought this would come from him,” a former colleague said.

Concerns have mounted among staff about the bank’s response. After a Friday meeting where Access Bank banned overnight stays and warned of jail terms for future misconduct, some employees told FIJ the move felt more like damage control than genuine support.

“There’s no real support offered,” a source said. “Many are traumatised already. Some people don’t even know they were recorded. It could haunt them in the future, even politically.”

Access Bank had not responded to FIJ’s request for comment as of press time.
