Abba Kyari, a supposed supercop has been arrested for massive cocaine trafficking.

 

 

Newsonline reports that the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja, the nation’s capital, have taken Abba Kyari into custody, according to two police sources familiar with the development.

 

This online news platform understands that Abba Kyari, who was earlier declared wanted by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over alleged involvement in drug trafficking and bribery of its officers.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that the Agency believes Kyari belongs to a drug cartel that operates Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria illicit drug pipeline. Mr Kyari will be handed over to the NDLEA for onward prosecution, our sources said.

 

“He was arrested by the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department because he failed to appear twice following invitation that the NDLEA was looking for him,” a police chief said. “He is with the AIG FCIID now and will be sent to the NDLEA shortly.”

 

The official said Abba Kyari’s pending case on Internet fraud charges will proceed separately.

 

“They want to formalise the ongoing probe by PSC before handing him over for prosecution and extradition,” an official added.

Abba Kyari’s arrest came hours after he was declared wanted by the NDLEA on charges that he had ties to drug cartels strong-arming Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria channel.
