Sununu explained that the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO) will identify vulnerable Nigerians from the national social register, targeting households in the lowest income brackets.
He said, “In the next few days, before the end of August, we will reach out to 2.2 million households. This is part of a rapid conditional cash transfer designed to support the most vulnerable citizens.”
The minister further disclosed that 71 percent of the funds have already been distributed to the northern region, while 21 percent has reached the southern region. To date, the program has benefited five million Nigerians.
