The Sultan of Sokoto has announced the date for Eid-Al-Fitri in Nigeria.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has officially declared the end of Ramadan following the sighting of the crescent moon of Shawwal 1446 A.H.
In his address, the Sultan stated that reports confirming the sighting came from various Muslim leaders and organizations, including the Shehu of Borno, the Emirs of Dutse, Argungu, Maru, Daura, and Zazzau, as well as the leadership of the JIBWIS in Jos.
He announced that Sunday, March 30, 2025, will mark the 1st of Shawwal and the celebration of Eid-El-Fitr.
The Sultan prayed for Allah’s blessings, mercy, and guidance for all Muslims, urging them to continue living in peace and to pray for the nation’s leaders.
He also called on Nigerian leaders at all levels to govern with fairness and fear of Allah while promoting national unity.
Concluding his speech, the Sultan wished all Muslims a blessed Eid and prayed for continued peace and stability in Nigeria.
