PSC Approves Commander Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi’s Promotion To ACP

PSC has approved Commander Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi’s promotion to ACP.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of CSP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi to the next rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP); the new promotee, currently heads the D9 section of Lagos State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, popularly known as Raider Squad.

 

This Nigeria news platform understands that Egbeyemi’s promotion is coming as part of a gale of elevation of Senior Police Officers by the Police Service Commission with a view to injecting heightened professionalism and efficiency in the Nigeria Police Force, in the words of PSC spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani.

Former CSP Egbeyemi, now ACP, was a four-time DPO at four different Police Divisional Headquarters, including Aguda, Mosafejo, Ilupeju in Lagos State and Sango Ota in Ogun State.

 

He served as the Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, Bolade-Oshodi between May 2016 and early December 2020; he was also the Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS), from December 2020 to June, 2024.

 

The SCID Raider team is a tactical squad tasked with the responsibility of cracking all shades of high-profile crimes.

 

Early in his career, he served as the deputy police public relations officer (DPPRO), Lagos State Command, Area Crime Officer of Area G, Command Ogba, Staff Officer to IGP Mike Okiro, ADC (aide de camp) to his excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former governor of Ogun State to mention a few.

 

The available record shows that ACP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi performed exemplary well in his previous places of assignment, thus, he is expected to justify the new elevation with excellent service delivery which has become a sort of a trademark for him.

 

Touted as one of the finest trained officers of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Egbeyemi, is famed for excellent community policing and topnotch crime bursting style; he is expected to raise the bar now, judging by his hands-on expertise and past successes on the job.
