NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Federal Government of Nigeria has made a recent announcement that is generating waves among the marketwomen community.

 

This Nigeria news platform understands that in a move to empower market women across Nigeria, Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, revealed on Tuesday that the Federal Government is gearing up to provide non-interest loans of N50,000 each to 1.5 million market women.

This initiative, part of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program (GEEP), is designed to breathe new life into their businesses and spur growth.

 

Dr. Edu went on to announce the allocation of a whopping N75 billion for the “Iyaloja Fund,” a fund dedicated to supporting underprivileged female traders.

 

The Iyaloja Fund is set to be officially inaugurated on October 17th, in a move that promises to be a game-changer for women entrepreneurs in the country.

GEEP is an initiative of the Federal Government and was created in 2015 to provide Interest-free loans to Medium and Small Scale business owners in Nigerians. All citizens are eligible for to apply for this BOI GEEP loan.

 

GEEP 2.0 is created to assist Micro Small and Medium Scale Enterprises with collateral-free loans to enable them boost their business which directly help the economy of the nation. To help build these businesses, the GEEP loan programme is currently in 3 categories.

GEEP 2.0 Loan Categories

    1. Trader Moni: Small Scale Traders who needs money expand their business can apply for this category such as fruit sellers, small shop owners, etc.
    2. Farmer Moni: Businesses that need loans in this category has to be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
  1. Market Moni: Agri-business owners who needs funds to grow their business are eligible to apply for this category.

GEEP Loan Amount

Loans ranging from N50,000 can be applied for in the GEEP 2.0 loan website www.growthplatform.me. These loans does not need collaterals and are interest free.   1. BVN
  2. Passport Photographs
  3. Local Govt of Origin Certificate
  4. A Valid National ID
  5. CAC Certificate for businesses eligible

To apply for GEEP Loan 2.0, you are to follow the guidelines below:

  1. Go to GEEP Registration Portal www.growthplatform.me
  2. Navigate to the GEEP Link.
  3. Open the link and read through the guidelines.
  4. Click on Application.
  5. Once, you are ready to apply, visit National Orientation Agency in your state.
