PDP has accused Governor Matawalle of fueling the crisis in Zamfara State.
Newsonline reports that the Peoples Democratic Party Zamfara State chapter has accused Governor Bello Mattawalle of fueling the crisis in the state.
Addressing journalists in Gusau, the vice chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Muktari Lugga said Mattawalle was creating unnecessary orders that violated the constitution of the country.
“He has been giving orders that contravened the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is doing so in order to cause confusion and crises in the state for his selfish interest.”
Lugga cited an example with the recent suspension on political activities by Matawalle, stressing that, “nobody has the power to suspend political activities except the Independent National Electoral Commission.
“Even the president of the country cannot suspend political activities just like that unless with the full consent of INEC,” he added.
Lugga maintained that the PDP would not respect the suspension order of political activities from Mattawalle, adding that they would continue to look for supporters until the end of the exercise next year.
“We will not abide by Matawalle’s suspension order on political activities and we will continue with our campaigns from now until we claim the state from APC in 2023.”
He blamed the state government over the recent incident where one person was killed and others injured.
“The Governor and his party APC should be held responsible for whatever happened because we were attacked by their members during our rally.”
