Ember Months: FRSC Sends Strong Warning To Motorists

FRSC has warned motorists about the use of second-hand tyres this ember month.

 

Newsonline reports that the Federal Road Safety Corps has warned motorists and other road users to avoid using second-hand tyres also known as tokunbo.

This online newspaper understands that Jigawa State Sector Commander, Ahmed Muhammad made the warning on Friday at the flag-off of the ember month 2022 campaign held at Investment Motor park, Dutse.

 

He said the theme of this year’s campaign is “Avoid overspeeding, overloading, and unsafe tyres to arrive alive”

Ahmad explained that seventy percent of road accident traffic is caused by overspeeding and urged drivers to avoid the use of Tukumbo tyres to avert road accidents.

In his speech, the Zonal Commander, ACM Godwin Omiko said the campaign is to mobilize the public on the dangers associated with the violation of road traffic rules.
